Zoom Class Rules & Requirements
It is your responsibility to read, understand, and comply with these rules. Because our courses are subject to state licensing mandates, we cannot make exceptions.
If you cannot meet these requirements, please contact us at least 3 business days before class to discuss alternative options or special accommodations. Non-compliance will result in immediate removal from class without a refund or certificate, and a rescheduling fee will apply.
1. Attendance & Punctuality
- Be On Time: The Zoom meeting will be locked once class begins. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
- Full Session Required: You must remain present for the entire class, including returning promptly from scheduled hourly breaks.
- 5-Minute Disconnect Limit: If you lose your connection or leave the class for more than 5 minutes total (or experience frequent drops), you will be removed and required to reschedule for a fee.
- Certification: Attendance is no guarantee of certification. Students must participate and comply with all course requirements in order to receive the course completion certificate.
- No splitting of class sessions: If you cannot attend one of the dates of a 2-day class or miss part of your class, you must reschedule the full class.
2. Camera, Environment & Conduct
- Stay Visible: Your full face (not the ceiling or a photo) must be clearly visible on video at all times.
- Professional Environment: Sit in a quiet, distraction-free space. You may not participate from a bed, a moving or parked vehicle, or any inappropriate location.
- No Multi-Tasking: Work, housework, childcare, phone calls, texting, and peripheral conversations are strictly prohibited.
- No Children: Children are not permitted on audio or video at any time to protect their privacy.
- Screen Name: Your Zoom display name must match your registration name to avoid being marked as a “No Show.”
3. Tech Setup & Recommendations
- Use of a Computer is preferable, but not mandatory: We strongly discourage using a cell phone due to overheating, dropouts, and notifications. If you must use a phone, plug it in and set it to Do Not Disturb.
- Stay Plugged In: Ensure your device is connected to a charger throughout the entire session.
4. Language & Translators
- Classes are taught in language noted (English or Spanish) . You must actively respond to questions from the instructor to pass.
- You may bring a translator, but please notify us in advance. Translators must be adults, present on the same device, visible on camera, and actively translating for the entire session.
- Maximum of 2 participants per device/screen.
5. Enforcement Policy
Instructors cannot stop class repeatedly to address individual rule violations. Being reminded of the rules more than once is considered disruptive to your peers, and you will be removed immediately.
Note: Class sessions may be recorded for state licensing audit purposes. Final certificates will be mailed to the address provided at registration.
